And I find it extremely amusing that some of you posters are accusing people of "fearing" black people because they move their families and keep their kids away from the bad apples. Again, that's cultural. My wife and I encourage our mixed-race son to socialize with only kids who are considered "good"; that means white kids, black kids, Hispanic kids, Asian kids, who are parented correctly and have a decent belief system and character. Two of his best friends are also black. We love the parents, go to church with one of them, etc. On the other hand, there is a black kid in the neighborhood who is clearly lacking on good direction from his parents. Does this mean we are "scared" of black people? I have to be crass for a second, but I'll make it as polite as possible. Please, GTFO with that.
Race matters when you're subject to being shot in the street, my friend. Here's a good piece for you.

Maybe. I think it would be really hard to be a police officer. I can't imagine the thoughts that run through any of their heads when faced with what appears to be a life/death encounter. I think fear is the culprit for a great majority of these unjustified shootings.

So let me get this straight.
  • Race does not matter when violent crime is committed.
  • Race does matter when police protect public against violent crime.

Sorry. You can't have it both ways.

I merely popped on here to see what was going on since I have friends living in charlotte. I will let you continue to debate other posters who are trying to present some relevant statistics to you which are countered primarily with skirting the point made or just pure nonsense

Au revoir.

Frankly, I was surprised by the amount of air time that the Shelby shooting got. Nobody made a mention of it on this board. Not one person brought it up in conjunction with this incident. Why would there be no connection?

If you were a cop looking at a guy with a gun, regardless of race, would you not think of another cop in a nearby city who was recently buried, or would that not cross your mind?

This is not in need of a moralistic sermon. It's cut & dry. A nearby city just buried a cop.

Can't tell from this photo. I sure hope that someone didn't need an ambulance or the fire department.
