Is this a set back to the Kaepernick movement where he advocates "discussion and dialogue. This was the perfect opportunity to start. But what starts out as peaceful protests soon develop into violence, looting etc This imo is a big step backwards and all this "kneeling" and raised fists, etc by athletes means nothing until people see that violence is not going to be an option.

Unfortunately the criminal element at these events far outnumber the group that would actually want to discuss and have a dialogue about moving forward. These are opportunistic criminals and these "events" give a perfect opportunity to further a stereotype so in that regard I think it absolutely does hurt the Kaepernick stance.

As it stands right now, we (the public) have what the police have said and what the victim's family has said and they are very different things. Having additional evidence to provide clarity is much needed at this point, ie. the video. Completely understand the Chief's POV on not releasing while the investigation is active but also don't like seeing CLT under siege nightly from a criminal element looking for easy victims.

I'm glad the National Guard is being brought in as public safety should be at the top of the priority list and last night there was a gaping hole in that.

York County, which is the 4th fastest growing county in SC. Neighboring Lancaster is the fastest growing county in the state.

I have an opinion about all of these "protestors" that show up time after time. I think there are several "professional protestors" that are notified by an organizing authority to show up after events and agitate the crowds into looting and rioting. The more violence by the MOB the better. Provoke confrontation and set Backs and Whites against each other.

Our department of Justice under Obama's direction seems to be promoting this racial discord rather than curbing it. We hear about the capabilities of the NSA, CIA, FBI and other alphabet government agencies. USE that capability. Why not use facial recognition software to identify the protestors that show up after these violent confrontations? If you have the same protestors show up at events scattered all over the country would that not indicate AN ORGANIZED effort to fan the flames? This information could be used by local authorities to prosecute the REAL perpetrators of this violence.

Is it still a crime to incite to riot? If it is why are we not seeing prosecutions for that crime?

And they both have had steady growth for quite some time. Either way Mecklenburg has lead from both a percentage wise & actual number of net residents since 2010. I doubt anything that's happened in last few days steams that tide.

That's not correct. Percentage wise York and Lancaster counties have been growing faster than Mecklenburg since 2014.
