Not so according to local Charlotte programming:

Those arrested during protest: Most local, most without criminal records | The Charlotte Observer

Quote from article:
" Of those 42 people arrested, 32 live in Charlotte, according to their arrest records. The others mostly live nearby, in Albemarle, Gastonia, Greensboro and Raleigh."

Yes, let's try to discredit the protesters so we can ignore what they are upset about.

I wouldn't say Greensboro and Raleigh are "nearby" in the sense that Albemarle and Gastonia are, but this certainly challenges the narrative that some are pushing about "outside agitators."

Nobody is discrediting the protestors at this point, just wondering if there is more to the story than meets the eye.

And by the way, let's not put a halo on the protestors either. Many people protested peacefully - good for them - but many others destroyed property, beat people because they were white, and some even attempted to throw an unconscious white reporter into a bonfire until police intervened.

I would like to understand why a black officer working for a black chief who shoots a black citizen that had a gun and was not following a policeman's orders turns into hatred for whites at these riots.

I agree that it has turned into a bit of a narrative, but the 70% number did come from an on-air interview on CNN with the Spokesman for the Charlotte Fraternal Order of Police. Looks like that was incorrect.

The key word is arrested. I don't doubt that there are a great deal of out-of-state protesters, too. There are "professional protesters" who do this for a living, using funding from some obscure source.

Because busting up a hotel and looting stores really goes to the root cause of police brutality
