I would not have been able to gain anything near the perspective/education at a less diverse school. I'm thankful for that and wish the merits were seen as advantages for other affluent whites, as they have extreme power and a real civic responsibility to shape our community into a more equitable one.
I'm reluctant to post this on a forum, lest it be misinterpreted by others.

But I wish you well in the birth of your child (Congrats!), and think it's great that you're putting a lot of thought into how you're raising him/her. Wish that every Parent were as thoughtful .

Do we also see these children being scared for their parents' lives due to black-on-black crime? Last time I checked, there are a few more black people killed in this country by other black civilians than by police. This little girl was fed thoughts by her adult relatives and they sensationalized it. This was a stunt, and I actually fear more for her or her family members being killed by a stray bullet during gang violence or killed in their own neighborhood by thugs.

Let's be real.

are you afraid of white on white crime? do you lock your doors and have an alarm system and a gun?

why do so many of you on CD act like Black folk can't be concerned about crime AND aggressive force by the police?

You're right, I don't go to black churches or neighborhoods.

I see you rioting on TV though, and I see you clog up every internet discussion with all your faux outrage whenever a cop shoots another sweet, innocent, perfect little angel. Its as predictable as the sun rising tomorrow morning.

If change is to begin, it's a two way operation. The older i get the more I doubt I'll see it in my lifetime.
