My washer is included in the recall and I am given two options , to either get a exchange rebate for a new washer or I get a free in home repair where they will fix the issue and extend the warranty by one year. I was wondering how many of you are affected by the recall and who all had the repair done? What exactly did they do for the repair and did it rectify the issue?

They installed some hardware, put on a new sticker and checked the balance. Once they re-balanced it, it ran better but never had the violent shake people spoke of.

We got a notice in the mail about 3 weeks ago. Our current Samsung top loader is crap and we've hated it since we bought it in 2011. So we decided to take the offer to purchase a new one with the rebate.

But the washer we ordered from Home Depot is backordered until min Jan. I'll try to report back once we've submitted the documents for the rebate.

Per the other thread, check disbursement takes around two months and sales tax is not included.

My recommendation.

Get a Speed Queen. Made in the USA and last forever.

Those big box washers are all junk now.

Great machine, but people need to be able to pay the initial outlay (upwards of triple) to pay for one and due to it have it having a lower capacity may have to do double the amount of times they do laundry per week.
