hi there, can any give me there opinion of the library system in charlotte? area there any branches in south charlotte? or ballantyne?
thanks!
Charlotte has a good library system. Here is a link. You will find a pull down menu listing the branches as well as a zip code search for a library near you.
We use the South regional branch on the corner of Rea Rd and 51. Since we live in union county we have to pay a nominal fee (I think it's like $25 a year) to use the Mecklenburg library system.
This went up to $45/yr and is now planning to charge $65/yr.
I paid the $100 for life back when it was still available.
I griped and complained about it until DH said, "Well, you can pay $65/yr or we can move to Mecklenburg and pay an additional $1000 or more in taxes so you can use the library system!"
It is all a matter of perspective!

I really like this library.
My daughter just had a huge research project to do and they were not allowed to use the internet so she spent many a weekend afternoon in the library researching books, etc.
This library is on Rea Road just before the Hwy 51 intersection.
I work in a library(GLRL system) and I can tell you that Charlotte is absolutely the best library system in NC and possibly the entire East Coast. It was the national library system of the year a few years back.
