My wife and I are planning a move from North Texas to Charlotte next summer (2017). I am trying to figure out where most of the tech jobs are located in and around the city. Searching job boards is not always useful because 1) recruiters don't post addresses and 2) job boards don't map addresses so I can't see an overview of the locations.
If someone asked me about jobs in DFW, I would say the majority are in Irving, Dallas and cities running straight north of Dallas (Richardson, Plano, Frisco, etc.). I am looking for the same info for Charlotte.

Any suggestions?
Do you mean IT jobs? If not, can you be more specific?

They are all over Charlotte - from Ballantyne up to Mooresville and in between. It just depends on your skills and what company you work for.
Not just uptown. Wells Fargo has a large IT presence in the UNC area. BofA has some tech people in Ballantyne as well as uptown. An IT job can be just about anywhere in the area.

This is true. There's also Lowe's right down the road in Mooresville.
Yes, I did mean I.T. and I am a Project Manager. I appreciate everyone's input. So what I am hearing is no one area of town has a greater concentration than another? I.T. jobs are distributed all across Charlotte?

Maybe not technically "all across," but they can be found in various locations, such as: uptown, University area (NE Charlotte), Ballantyne (south Charlotte), and Mooresville (25-30 miles north of Charlotte).

Yup, & if you extend to outside of the city limits, Kings Mountain & Maiden have data centers. Gastonia & Concord are county seats & may have something. Concord, Gastonia, & Kings Mountain are utility providers & might have something there. There are possibilities all over the area as well as in multiple areas of Charlotte.
