The end of the summer is MUCH worse than FL... we were consistently at 102 degrees here last summer (it was my first summer here after moving from FL) and it was impossible to get anything done. It was like living in hell on earth. This was also (I have heard from people who have lived here) a particularly COLD winter... (we had snow and ice) so my fiance and I have been so confused. It definitely is not a place I would call "mild" by any means, atleast not this past year. On the bright side - we still love it here.

Being realistic about it, Charlotte does not compare with florida as far as hot days per year. Jacksonville has an average of 62 days a year where the highs for the day are over 90. Charlotte has 38. Again, being realistic, when it is over 87 degrees, who cares, it is hot as hell.

For the shoutout - Miami (Pinecrest) to Marvin area...

Weather - summers are about the same - still hot and humid, but the rest of the year is spectacular!

We are definitely hotter than S. Fla. a couple of months out of the year, or even Tampa. The thing I miss about FL was the breezes that you could get off the ocean or the gulf. It would be hot there but there could be a nice breeze which makes the summers more tolerable. I don't find it's as breezy here.
