On Secrest Shortcut Road. I noticed this place being worked on since early spring/summer of 2016. For at least four months, it has looked to be completely ready to open, with a sign out front "opening soon". Six weeks ago, we passed by and the parking lot was packed. We walked in and was told it was a private party, by a waitress running past us.

Anyone know what the deal is with this place?

Might be a great restaurant, but if the owner is as good at food as he was at running county government and changing laws to promote his business interests, I'd say it will fail.

Of course, there hasn't been much food choice in the Hemby Bridge area, so I hope it does well for the sake of residents nearby.

Interesting. Had no knowledge of that. My wife said it was opened for private parties twice. I find it very strange that it was open TWICE for private parties, but never opened to the public yet. Yes, that area lacks good food. The pizza place is okay. I think he does pretty well, being that there is not much over there to eat.

I have a friend that lives just inside 485 right up the street from Hemby Bridge. I'll ask him about it. Probably just opening for private parties to get the feel of running a restaurant. If I'm not mistaken Pressley is also the Mayor of Hemby Bridge.
