There's little negativity on the board. Such a classification is amusing, considering the varied backgrounds of the posters on this forum...

As to the OP's query: I don't know what 700k will buy you in South Park, but that's a lovely area, as are most areas within the 28226 zip code.

Many of the newer areas in south Charlotte remind me of those in Monmouth County, namely Manalapan and Marlboro.

South Park has Paramus like shopping, wrapped in a beautiful package, while being close to work and Uptown CLT.

If it were me, I'd rent a couple years and hold out for something in the river district. You might even get lucky enough for a recession to come and the discounted pricing that comes with it.

OP, look into areas around Lake Wylie. Cornelius and Davidson areas also have 2 lovely high end neighborhoods, The Pennisula and River Run, but the commute from there might be awful.
