I am moving to Charlotte very soon and I am currently looking for places to live . . . I recently found a completely renovated home near the NODA area on Woodside Drive. I am from "small town" America and really don't know a ton about Charlotte city life . . . does anyone know how safe that particular area is? If its not decent do you have any other advice? Thanks!!

Having a hard time picturing Woodside Drive being near NODA. Can you give a cross street or more specifics about where exactly this house is?

Okay, now I see it on the map. That is a very tough call for me. How adventureous are you? The NODA area is hot for sure, but as I've stated before on this forum, not a place I personally would be real comfortable living. That area is very near Plaza Midwood which is also extremely desirable for its close in location and many beautifully restored craftsman style homes. The problem is that there are pockets of areas all around there that make that area less safe than say, living in Matthews I don't think living that close to Eastway, Shamrock, Sugar Creek is a very good idea at all, but then, lots of people are doing it! Where will you be working, uptown? If you tell me your approximate price range I might be able to make a few other suggestions for you if you are interested.

Thanks for the info! Thats kind of what I was afraid of . . . I will be working in South Charlotte. I had also thought about moving the complete opposite direction and living in Fort Mill it seems very nice and safe.

If you will be working in south Charlotte Fort Mill would be a great choice, but so would south Charlotte itself Let me know if you have any other questions.
