Ballantyne Country Club a Family Neighborhood? (Neighborhood - Not Club Itself) (Charlotte: HOA, neighborhoods)

Newbie to the Charlotte area and wondering what people think of Ballantyne Country Club the neighborhood, not the club itself.

Do people find that it is a good family spot? Are there a mix of kids/ages? Looking for a fun neighborhood...are there neighborhood activities for families?

Budget allows for a little more expensive house, but still like the idea of being somewhere that is family friendly.

Yes, you'll get family friendly there. However, there are lots of nice neighborhoods that have great resort style amenities and good schools that don't come with the high price tag of the BCC HOA and membership fees. Look at Brookhaven, Bridgemill, and I know there are others in Union County.
