Was over there the other day checking things out, I love the location. I'm seriously thinking of buying over there, what village did you buy in ? I like the idea of maintence free lawns but might jump for a bigger house.

The ranches are nice with top of line standard features... I'll be pondering this one. Did you get any deals over there, options wise ?

himain - glad you ask the question. My spouse and I visited Woodbury last week and loved it. Just need more information on the area because we're not familiar and will be moving from Boston, MA. We're also trying to get more info on schools because we have 2 little one. What about traffic in that area? Any information will be helpful.

I don't know about schools in the area because we are child free so I couldn't help you there. If you go onto Centex website and click on the woodbury and then community info, I believe somewhere on there it lists schools in the area or you could call the office and ask. They would be able to tell you. Which village in Woodbury are you looking into? The HOA is pretty strict in my village, Mayfield, as far as having trampolines, portable basketball courts, etc so you might want to look into that first before doing anything.

Default Woodbury

We liked the Callington and Stanhope villiages. Thanks for the heads up on the HOA because we would definitely want a portable basketball hoop. Other than the train (which I'm not sure we want to deal with) was there any other negative things that comes to mind? Not sure if I can get my hands on the HOA before deciding but I'll give a call and ask.

Didn't like the fact of the second shooting blocks away about a week ago. Centex had lowered the base price by $40K. They had agreed to adjust the price but pulled out the options that were originally written into my contract. My main concern was quality of community itself and future resale/rental options.

Did they say why they wouldn't give you the options in the original contract?

Were the shootings in the Woodbury neighborhood or on Albemarle?

I too am thinking about purchasing here. Not certain, but I think the shooting happened on Albemarle. It may have been the one that happened at the auto repair shop not too far down from Woodbury.
