How much would you pay or have you paid to have a microwave installed?

I am in search of a electrician, but the estimates I have recieved so far, are a bit on the high side.

Could you also provide me a company that is known for good work and prices?

Thanks for any feedback.

I wouldn't pay any more than $50. Check out some of the handyman companies in the area for estimates.

Yep, that's usually an easy job. It only takes about 10-15 minutes. It's just two bolts.

Its a little more complicated than that. There is a plate that affixes to the wall behind the microwave that has to be mounted to studs. It has a flange on the bottom that supports the weight of the micro that is in addtion to the bolts that screw into the micro from inside the cabinet above. If its being vented outside then an additonal hole has to be cut to run the ducting up through the cabinet.
This is also assuming you have a newer home and there is an outlet located in the upper cabinet to plug in an over-the-stove microwave.
They can be a booger to install, getting everything to line up right when drilling holes and mounting it. Mine took me a solid hour. But hiring an electrician is overkill. If the outlet is there, its simply a matter of plugging it in. A handyman if your best bet.

Default Problem Solved

I have an error in my original post. I actually needed someone to install the outlet, but that's fine now, because I found an electrician that will do it for a reasonable amount. My friend and I will mount the microwave ourselves.

I bought a Whirlpool microwave, that has a lot of one touch buttons. Appears to be easier to use than many of the others in the same price range.

I will not vent to the outside, but this model is capable of that.

Thanks for all the input.
