I heard Moss Creek was a nice gated community in Concord where the kids can walk to school. Does anyone know about this area?

It's not gated. It seems to be a nice neighborhood. There are a lot of new homes being built. I believe there is a middle school there and a new elementary school on the way. (I'm not sure if it's opened yet).

Does anyone have to commute to Charlotte? There is a lot of traffic in that area going to the QC?

Yes - hubby works at the airport - is that a long drive? Is Union county any closer?

Default What do you mean by "Gated"?

Did you mean "Gated" or "Subdivision"?

I've heard some people use the term "Gated" when they really mean "subdivision". A subdivision usually has a name for the community, it's usually not fenced but clear borders exist to define the boundaries of the subdivision. They usually have one or two entrances with no security booth.

I think the real meaning of "Gated" is to be fenced all around, with a security booth at the front entrance. Many times the booth has a Guard working there who will phone the homeowner when a visitor arrives. I think this is the more correct definition of gated.

I've checked it out and it seems pretty good. The lot sizes were too small for us, though. No, it's not gated.

I don't know much at all about Charlotte [yet], but I think your dh will have quite a commute to the airport from there. I'm sure there are other good places more convenient to the airport.

I know it's about 45 min from the airport and it seems the lots are not as big as I wanted by research tells me that the good schools are in that area (Harris, Griffin) which are the #1 consideration for us. It seems like a pretty area -

Default moss creek schools

The schools in Moss Creek are one of the best!!! If the lots are too small look at the estates area in Moss Creek, they are bigger. We are very happy here and our children love the schools. My suggestion is stay in Cabarrus County and out of Mecklenberg County. Good Luck!!

You should look into Mount Holly or Belmont. Easy commute to the airport.

There would be a lot of traffic on 485 if you commuted from Union County.
