Always a good time and a beautiful run. Only had hard rain once. Recently learned that it benefits summer programs for the children of the town. Can you believe that? Have you seen that town? The mansions??? What could those poor children possibly need. A child would be fortunate to live in one of those garages!!!!
Oops, jealousy is such an ugly thing. We will continue to run it as it has become a tradition, but I wish the proceeds would benefit someone more in need .

Rockaway (Morris County) native... yes, I miss NJ sometimes (well, mainly I miss my family and friends) but it is very easy to go back and visit. I went in January and am going back in April.

I'm liking Charlotte a whole lot better now that DH will be working on April 1!

I think your adjustment will be helped if you maintain the attitude that Charlotte is not NJ and one of the wonderful things about life is the ability to experience how other folks live. Embrace the differences and I think you'll be just fine. Good luck!

Clifton? Help!! Just last week I was trying to remember the name of a restaurant we used to go to in Clifton, N.J. It was known for it's Monte Cristo sandwiches and was on a circle. I seem to remember "The Enchanted Florist" on the street leading into it and it being close to Rt.3. I know it's not much to go on, but it is driving me crazy. Do you know it???

Hye Guys, how about Ruts-Hut, frenchy gravy, and the dogs were the best, oh yes, I can't forget Eagans in North Arlington for the same. With that, I still love it here in Charlotte, the weather, the people, the city is really growing. This morning's low was around 37*, and it's warming up to around 70* this afternoon, how good is that...

Rutts is a classic. Always ordered (2) chzburgers dipped, fries w/gravy, & a ripper to go....I laugh because I bet you the sanitation rating of that place is probably a 75-80..

Hot Grill was vg also...

Man, I'm hungry....

OK Jack and Dad, Prepare tro be JEALOUS!!!! I went to Rutts Hut twice in November. Yeah, the Rippers were just as I remembered them from over a decade ago. Frenchies and gravy only second to Eagans. The waitress was priceless and may be the same one from when I lived there. "Dad", sorry to say Eagans is gone. I also went to Pizzaland in Kearny and Dickie Dee's in Newark for best Italian hot dog on the planet. Sorry, cause I know your starvin now! Oh, by the way, Calandras bread was amazing.......

Default Rockaway Township!

We've been here since 1988 when we moved from Christopher Street in Rockaway Township, on the Dover side right down from the Rockaway Mall. We lived in the Germania Park area, just a block down from the German club where they had the great Oktoberfest every year. Wow, that was a great memory. Thanks! Wish I were that young again and could go back and do it all over knowing what I know now!
