Went to La Unica on South Blvd just north of Arrowood for lunch today.

Everything was good but the torta roll was not grilled with butter on it like on Central. (was not as crispy)

Avocado salsa was great (only the second Mexican restaurant where I have seen it) - had a chorizo quesadilla, carne asada torta, carnitas tacos Mexican style and Mexican style tacos platter (these were almost more like enchiladas but filled with shredded beef). That WAS for four of us-

Incidentally, the one on Central had a 93 sanitation score FWIW.

PLAN R :::::: your question about chicken places , I was in Monroe recently picking up an item another walmart did not have and in that walmart shopping center on 74 there is a little Rotisserie place, so I wandered in. GENARO's is the name. I thought it was going to be like a plcae i use to go to in NJ owned by Italians and that place was FABULOUS. Anyway to my surprise Genaros is a peruvian place . We tried the Bandeja genaro, had chicken ,pork and spanish sausage YUM! and fried plantains good. Be prepared its a small little store VERY bright inside. we got ours to go.

Error in my last post - the sanitation score was 94, not 93

Seems like there are a lot of places on South Blvd. We even saw a taco truck on the way home from Beef & Bottle.

La Unica is probably the best we have found so far (Indian Trail). It's not that I don't like Monterrey, Zapatas, Cantina, Mexican 1900, either. It's just I really like the chips and salsa more at La Unica. They have this green salsa that has avocado in it that is just unreal tasting! Also the tacos and banana milkshakes are really good. I really miss Baja Fresh though. That place was really good for being a chain.

I miss Baja Fresh too!!! It is excellent for a chain. They make most of the stuff fresh so even though it was sort of fast food it was still good. I love their Fish Tacos! I think the closest one is up in Greensboro.
