Good Weekend Trips
Can we chat about some great places to go for the weekend. We have a 3 yr old so somewhat family friendly would be nice.

There is the new Sports Connection that just opened on Johnston rd and Ardrey Kell. They have bowling, laser tag and arcade games. You can also head to Discovery place downtown. If you you are staying up in the LKN area there is Club F/X as well.

Are you thinking more along the lines of a road trip? Oh there are so many options!
Asheville, Chimney Rock, Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Wilmington just to name a few.

Boone, Blowing Rock, Hilton Head, so many more depending on how far you want to drive.

Southport, Wilmington, and Bald-Head Island are all nice and on the coast.
A great day trip is down to Cowpens in SC - you can visit the battlefield there.

Not sure when you are planning on your weekend trip...but my suggestion would be to head on up to the Blowing Rock area....Tweetsie Railroad is a must with a 3 year old! (only thing is...it does not open until May 2nd), there's also plenty of places you can take him/her to pan for gems/gold, or how bout fishing at a stocked pond...and for the parents you can hang out down in the main part of Blowing Rock for eats and shopping.

I think your 3 year old would love the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer. About an hour's drive from Charlotte. They have lot's of trains to see and more! If your son is anyting like mine at that age, trains are huge!!

I was also going to suggest a train ride. I believe that last year that had special rides with the "Easter Bunny" on board. I know they had one last December with Santa Claus present. I had a friend who did this with her sons when they were around 3 & 4 yrs. old and she said it was an experience that they talk about still (they are 11 & 12 now).
Reeds Gold Mine is a good "Day excursion".

Where would yall stay in Blowing Rock? Somewhere nice, where I dont have to worry about scrubbing everything with bleach before I put the baby on the floor.
