I know where Chesterfield is, yes. I used to drill at Selfridge ANGB.

Welcome! I'm sure you'll like it here - the VAST majority of folks who come here do.

Without knowing the particulars of the career move, I'd pick Charlotte over Vegas. Good luck with your decision!

Thanks for advice! Ive never been to Vegas but its my other option because good pay with my job and I have a few friends I know there. However Charlotte is closer to family and I am hoping that finding friends wont be difficult to find since everyone seems friendly but we will see. Thank you!

I think people are making it out to be worse than it is in the summer. It's hot yes, but I wouldn't call it "brutal". Just a typical summer heat.

"Typical summer heat" for the South Atlantic, sure. Not "typical summer heat" for the Great Lakes region.

Trust me, was born and lived in MI for 32 years and I've been in Charlotte for the past 10 years now. No Michigander would call our summers down here "typical" the first summer they spend here.

Weather, bugs, summer, distance to beach, distance to mountains. Don't get me wrong, Charlotte is a great town, I love the concerts, sports and dining - but I prefer no bugs and humidity. This isn't a Charlotte bashing comment - I personally just prefer the West (from Raleigh area). If I could pick up Charlotte and move it West - it would be perfect!
