Decided to move to Moss Creek, Concord
Thank you everyone on this forum for helping me narrow down my search. It seems Cabarrus County, Concord has gotten a lot of good remarks on this forum - the schools in particular (Harris)
We will be moving at the end of the school year, hubby will be commuting to the airport and I'm an Interior Designer so I can work anywhere.
Kids are 11 & 12 and like what they saw on the Moss Creek website and it seems it is what we are looking for.
If anyone would like to give me and FYI's it will certainly be welcomed!
It was a tough decision, but it looks like it was the right one!
thank you all!

Good Luck,
Moss Creek is very similar to the community that I live in Highland Creek. Highland Creek started over 10 years ago but builders are still builing here. The community is located on the Mecklenburg and Cabarrus County lines. Half of the community goest to Mecklenburg schools. The elementary school is inside the neighborhood and many of the kids walk to school. A middle school will be built next to the elementary school in a few years.
The Cabarrus county side children go to Cox Mill Elementary. I forgot the middle school. But from what I have been told lately, since so many people wanted to move out of MC they all moved to Cabarrus and now those schools are getting crowded.
My suggestion: Check out the schools now and see where the occupancy trend is going. In a few years it may be overcrowded. I'm not saying they are now. Just check to see about the growth. Also, when you come to charlotte to visit take a drive to Highland Creek, I think Moss Creek will be very similar. Many of the builders are the same. It seems like it has the same planning w/ the school and amenities, pool, tennis, etc. except HC has a golf course.
Take care in your new adventure!!!!!! You should find plenty of work in your new neighborhood.

im new to this board and am so glad that I found it....Congrats on your decision..My children are almost 12 and almost 8 boy and girl, and it is a very difficult decision for us to do this considering my family are staying here in NY and NJ.....We too are looking to relocate to the area, and have found Moss Creek on the website WOW beautiful homes is all I can say....We also liked Union County so we are planning on making a trip in March or early April, either way we have to make a decision and my heart tells me to go because we cant afford to live here in jersey any longer and hopefully my husband can find a Job in Charolette...

I live in Moss Creek
we moved from taxachusetts to Moss Creek earlier this year. The lot size is pretty small, and the houses are close together but we do not mind. How often do you spend on the side of your house anyway?

Thats why we decides not to go to Moss Creek, it came is second place because of the lot sizes. We chose Glen Grove so we could get a 0.33 acre lot. Can't beat Moss Creeks ameneties though

I just moved to Moss Creek from CT. Go Yankees, but my best friend was a Sox fan. I dont like how the houses are close together either, but it seems pretty normal in NC. For the price it cannot be beat.

Yankees fan here too! I live in Moss Creek and I love it!!! We just had a 4th of July parade today with all the kids and then I organized a block party on my street! We had about 85 people and they all had a great time!! It is a really friendly development with lots of great people and wonderful amenities and activities for everyone!!!

Thats so funny....and sad. Im from Long Island so I understand the tax thing. We too are considering Moss Creek. Gotta do something....the cost of "living" (existing) is killing us here.

I hear that Organized crime members from New York now live in Moss Creek. Does anyone have any idea?
