Do I need to be there when they open, or is some other time better? Please help! I was so angry, because they are not even nice about it! Very rude! And, I got yelled at because I passed the rope! Jeez!
Also, from Cornelius, which DMV is the closest?
Thanks!!!

I had the same problem and this is what I was told and I waited 15 minutes!!!
I did a mapquest and found the Lincolnton DMV it was 25 to 30 min from exit 25 off I77 (but I waited in Moorseville for 3 1/2 hrs and only got a number in line after the 3 1/2 hrs and was told it would be another 3 hours so I left very angry!) so the 30 minute distance did not bother me. I arrived when the dmv opened and was 4th in line and the people who work there were some of the nicest people I have encountered in NC!

I went to the Mooresville DMV last Thursday (2/28). Got there at 8:15AM and was given a number. There were about 12 people ahead of me. They called my number at about 8:45AM and it took me about 40 minutes to complete giving them info and taking the written test (computer type). I was back home in Huntersville by 10AM (even had a short stop at Wal Mart). At about 9:15, while I was waiting to have my picture taken for the DL, there was absolutely NO ONE waiting in the lobby!
So, on that Thursday morning, it took me all of 1 1/2 hours to get my NCDL. Now that was fast (to me).

My DS misplaced his DL and we had to get one replaced quickly. Went to Mooresville a couple of weeks ago and arrived at 7:30. They open at 8AM. We were #9 in line outside the door. When we got in there, we received our "number" and had a seat. It took about 30 minutes to get in and out of there.
Of course, if you've been to Mooresville DMV, you'd appreciate this. The lady with the wrist brace that usually works the front desk was off that day. It made for a much more pleasant experience.

I went to Statesville and that was no prize. I might try Belmont next or someplace in the boonies. Even if the drive is farther, you save time on the wait.

The one in Salisbury is the lesser of most evils. I only had to wait 2 hours there versus 4-5 in all other Charlotte locations.

wouldn't say his comment is racist...he said illegals...illegals can be any race..and illegals are that, illegal...they do waste so much taxpayers time and money...there's no political correctness to it...
As far as mooresville and them giving out numbers...every place gives out numbers...if you aren't there when they open the doors, you are going to have to wait. Try the one in Statesville or as someone mentioned, make an appointment.
