Default Why move to South Charlotte???

I see so many here who want to move to South Charlotte and I simply don't get it. Belmont/Mount Holly are quiet towns with no traffic, very afforable and a stones throw away from uptown. I lived in South Charlotte and hated it. Tons of traffic, higher crime. I don't get it. Maybe it best people don't move here, as this will keep things the way they are now. Peaceful, safe and affordable with minimal traffic.

The difference in public school education alone would keep me away from the Belmont area, unless I planned to private school maybe.

More diversity (not only in people, but shopping, restaurants, etc). Belmont and Mt. Holly are nice and I am suprised Gaston County isn't growing as fast as other counties considering the infrastructure in Gaston County is much better than Union. I would consider living in Belmont/Mt. Holly because I love the way they look, but there just seems to be a lack of culture in both those places.

Where can you find new developments in Belmont/Mt Holly? LOL I'd be interested to at least look.

I would say you are in the minority as south charlotte is booming and keeps building housing , schools and upscale shopping. The type of person that would live in south charlotte isn't the same type of person that would live in Belmont.

There are some High End neighborhoods going up in Belmont as we speak! Hawthorne is one. VERY nice place to live and you can be Uptown in 20 minutes. Can't do that from South Charlotte!

Belmont is probably THE place to live in Gaston County. Known for being nice!

I am sure SouthPoint High is just as good as any High School in South Charlotte too!

There is ABSOLUTELY -0- culture in South Charlotte!

It is all Uptown!

South Charlotte is quite over-rated!

Nice but not all that!

It is NOT all nice by any means.

Been there....done that.
