We have visited NC 3x. We are still trying to figure out where we want to relocate here. Can we have thoughts in concord? We want to stay close to the businesses and jobs in concord. Dont want to drive into charlotte at all. We are in our mid 50s and want somewhere thats not too congested w traffic. Is this the place? I guess this area will be our next visit. And i hooe im in the right forum. Thx!

What qualities do you want in your next hometown?

If it's simply a matter of congestion, etc., look also at Harrisburg and Mint Hill

We are looking for nice parks, walking trails, shopping and flea markets etc. Nothing major. Somewhere not too crazy loud with no crazy traffic. Yeah i know about nascar being there. Does that mean it will be crazy busy?

It depends on what area of Concord you move to whether it will be busy. We are west of 85 and we just avoid the area of Concord Mills and the track for the weekend. We've been down here for 11 years now. The last 2-3 years it hasn't been as busy. We can go to dinner like usual during race weekend and get in and out. If you are east of 85 then it will be bad two weekends out of the year. My advice is don't live near the track.

What's your budget?

I would look in the 28025 zip code with your budget. You could also look in Harrisburg like another poster suggested.

I live in Concord. Race traffic is absolutely avoidable the one or two weekends of the year there is a major race. It is no big deal at all.

Do watch out for traffic off of Hwy. 73; when 85 north backs up, people use 73 as an alternate. This is most common in the afternoons.

You can get a house under $150,000 but your options will be limited. Where else in NC have you looked?
