Default modern/contemporary furniture around Charlotte

I FINALLY closed on my new house last week (I've had a contract on it since June)! Everything is great but I'm currently sleeping on a mattress on a floor with nothing else in my bedroom but a TV and boxes full of items that need to be put on shelves. I would love to get my room set up ASAP so I'm looking for some modern/contemporary bedroom furniture. Does anyone have any suggestions of furniture stores around Charlotte or even Hickory, High Point/Greensboro? Nothing ridiculously expensive--mid range-quality in the $2k-$3k range for a full bedroom set. Also, if they can deliver within a week or two (as opposed to many weeks out), that would be great! I found two places in South End that have modern furniture but that's it so far. Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

The best place that I found for contemporary furniture (at a decent price - not too expensive not too cheap) is RoomsToGo. I am impaired when it comes to decorating, so they have the rooms all laid out in a way that is easy to see. It's not modern though and there is definitely some traditional looking stuff in there, but we found a lot of good stuff. Also went to Furniture Row Outlet on Independence and they have decent prices for good quality. However, had big time problems with delivery and getting everything to us in a timely manner. RoomsToGo was right on point (there is one on Independence and one over by Carolina Place. RoomsToGo would not negotiate prices. Furniture Row Outlet came off the price quite a bit - maybe they delivered our stuff late because we walked out until they gave us the price we wanted.

Congrats on the closing! There is a store down near Carolina Place Mall that I think is exactly what you are looking for, By Design.

Welcome to By Design Furniture

Haverty's and Lazy Boy are the best I've found. Their furniture is very nice, and inexpensive. They're located just down the street from Carolina Place Mall.
There are several other furniture stores in the same area.
Have fun shopping!

Design Within Reach. As the name would imply, they are a bit more affordable than most of the high end modern furniture sources. Price is relative, though.

We bought a couple of bar stools from them and the price was good for the design and quality.

Design Within Reach is in South Park. If you wait a year, IKEA will be open.

By Design is also located on South Blvd. (SOUTH BLVD: 2130 South Blvd.704-342-4600) and right across the street from it is is EQ3 (2137 South Blvd.). Both have handsome contemporary furniture. In general, this is not the best town for contemporary. You're better off if your taste runs to traditional.

Forgot two other places: Crate and Barrel (4320 Sharon Rd - near SouthPark) and City Supply Co: located on Thomas Ave, in Plaza-Midwood.
