“Don’t judge a city based on one area”.. ok then.. I’ll let the stats speak for itself I guess... can’t wait to hear the excuses “the stats are off”, “fake news” or whatever ...

Only 61 cities were ranked and Charlotte came in at #28, so about in the middle. Not great but there are several other cities with worse or similar rankings that you'd probably claim to be much safer than Charlotte - Nashville (#19), Atlanta (#20), Jacksonville (#22), Dallas (#25), Miami (#26), Dekalb County GA (tied with Charlotte at #28), Orlando (#32), and Tampa (#33) to name a few.

I actually agree that Steele Creek is kind of gross. But couldn't you see that with your own eyes without even knowing about crime and plane noise. Couldn't you see the litter and beggars when you first visited?

If you'll see my other posts you see we moved sight unseen due to husbands job... so no.. I had only been to the Lake Norman area. Which we now know has a cancer cluster...so dodged one bullet to take another I suppose.. My husband has an interview on Monday so hopefully it turns into something and we can get out.Yes Steele Creek is gross.. its literally just one couple mile strip off S. Tryon. its not even a town.. just an... area of strip malls and a lovely view of the nuclear factory smoke to the west....The people who don't live here are gonna argue with me on what I see every day lol.

Ahh...gotcha. That's a bummer. Well, it looks like you're renting, not buying. Hopefully you've found other parts of Charlotte that are more appealing to you. Because, honestly, Steele Creek is a hot mess.

Did anyone ever say it was? That’s something you should have been able to figure out even if you had never been there.

One need not be a victim of a crime to be aware of crime. Steel Creek has crime. Pay attention to the news.

Take a look at Steel Creek in Charlotte GeoPortal:

https://mcmap.org/geoportal/

Look into every neighborhood in Mecklenburg county while you're at it. You'll learn that the neighborhood that has the lowest crime rate in the county is located on the east side!
