No real wood fireplaces in new homes anymore?

Gas foreplaces are much better (just an opninion). I don't want to deal with wood, bugs, etc. Plus all you have to do is press a button and the logs light up. Even in higher end homes/condo's you have gas. Most people probably don't want real wood fireplaces. They are probably in more older homes than new. Plus where do you get wood now a days? Do people deliver it to your home?

I usually just drive around my neighborhood after a bad storm and there is tons of wood. The best part is it's free.

It's due to maintenance reasons why they dont install "REAL" fire places ! We have a real fire place in our house but never use it because it has to be cleaned. If your chimney is not cleaned properly it can be a hazard. People aren't interested in the mess that comes with a real fire place, now you can get gas fire places that look real ! It's the older homes that have real fireplace these days ! Goodluck on your search for a real one !
