Been in Charlotte over a decade, lately I see rash and impatient drivers. I still remember early days in Charlotte, how nice people used to be, giving way, patient with fellow drivers. Gone those days, people seem to become impatient, and rude

May be it's just me folks...feeling this way.

I notice a big change since 2008, when I first visited Charlotte. I love the character, beauty, and diversity of the City, but appreciate small town manners, pace, and courtesy, so I am no longer in Charlotte.

After being overseas for most of a decade, my general sense traveling around the States is much of the nation's gone down the shooter. Yes, including the appearance of NASCAR let loose on local roads and driving standards and levels of respect in general nationally. However, the sun may still rise in the east Wednesday and be even more visible Thursday.

I've been here over 50 years, and yes things have changed.......... thank God.
If things hadn't changed we would be stuck in a time warp.
With the change comes some good and some bad.

This issue with impatient drivers that aren't courteous is more related to sheer volume of traffic than good ole' southern courtesy while on the road.

I see more people at stop signs and red lights on cell phones now. The light changes and they are still in cel mode. I honk my horn to snap them out of their electronically induced cloud, even if I'm in the lane next to them.

I would say to those people. Drive your car, it's the single most dangerous thing you will be doing during your life, please devote your full attention to the task at hand.

This. Not transplants. Even kind hearted local southerners get stressed in high traffic.

The influx of transplants has increased the traffic. I'm a transplant myself and it amazes me that people still don't know how to merge on or off of a highway. They wait until the very last possible second to take the exit they want/need and it doesn't matter if there are 50 cars in the way. They just dart right on over. They think they don't need to wait in line like everyone else is doing.

I agree that transplants has caused the traffic. Just disagree that it's purely their personalities that's causing their impatience.
