Default Considering moving to Charlotte

My husband and I have never been to Charlotte. My husband is considering UNC for grad school. I'd like to know the areas we should avoid: ghetto areas, crime ridden areas, etc. We'd also like to know how most people find jobs...we've looked on the internet but want to know if there are any other resources for us to search. Please help us out...we need all the help we can get!
He would like either a banking job, where he has experience, or a job in his degree field of psychology or Human Resources. I am looking for anything!

Union county hopeful is on a distinguished road
Look at Huntersville - It is the nicest place close to the University area! Some parts of the University can be undesirable. HIghland creek neighborhood is cute!

28262 and 28269 are also considered the university area. It has really expanded and there are some very nice areas close to UNCC off WT Harris and Mallard Creek-Prosperity Church

Stay away from East and West Charlotte - there are other pocket places that are "bad" but those areas are the worst! Good luck!

anything north of exit 18 on 77 is good and very easy to commute to university. also pocket areas in charlotte are nice such as south park, but expensive. as far as a job, start looking far in advance as many people are moving here it is very competitive. My wife has a very strong work background (banking, customer service, etc.) and it took her 4 months to land something and it was hundreds of ads being posted to, with very few responses and fewer interviews.g If your looking for banking and project management you will need a background in securities with is what hurt my wife as she didnt have that. Good luck to you.
