I'm partial to my own hood, Olde Providence. It's an older neighborhood at the lower end of your price range. Excellent schools and we have a swim/tennis club (Windyrush Country Club) that most of the families use. That's how I met all of my friends (hanging out in the baby pool then - now banished to a corner because our kids are teenagers and are embarrassed about us). The sidewalks are packed with young families pushing strollers. Lots are large. It's a great place to raise a family. Sturdy brick homes with gorgeous hardwoods. It's in South Charlotte close to Southpark. An oasis of affordability in a sea of million dollar homes!
Oh I love OP and second it. Grills and Guitars every Friday night in the summer at the pool. Grills and Gridirons on the club's widescreen TV when the panthers are away. A really nice annual home tour. Quiet, tree-lined (mature) streets. Heavenly.
Macaualy is the place for you - Everyone loves to party and we all have small kids so we make the neighborhood our entertainment! BBQ with real BBQ - Corn hole tournements, bunco, poker, playgroup, ladies night out, ladies tuesday breakfast, easter egg hunt, kids craft, block parties, I could spend a long time typing more - but I have to go. Trust me - this is the place to be!
Where is Old Providence located? I would love to drive through it.
Off of Providence Road, about three miles north of 51 so very close in to the city. You make a left onto Olde Providence Road and go down about a mile to Lancer Drive which is the entrance to the neighborhood and a beautiful road. Or you can come in off Colony Road just north of Colony Place Shopping Center on Abbottswood.
