Hi, I have recently moved to Charlotte and have leased an apartment in Ballantyne. Please suggest good preschools for my 3 years old daughter. What is the average weekly/monthly rates for the preschools and what are the various options available in terms for number of classes per weeks, full day vs. half day, etc. When do the session begin and how soon do I need to register for the admission? Appreciate you help! Thanks!

We put our daughter into Calvary and were very impressed. A bit on the expensive side, but it included a hot lunch each day, and they had a lot of cultural activities for the kids (science class, drama class, Spanish, art, etc). We're not very religious, which was fine with Calvary, though you do have to get used to your child being taught a Catholic curriculum.

We sent our 4 year old last year to South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Preschool in Ballantyne and were very pleased with the staff, the flexibility they offer in terms of classes/days offered especially the staff. As our daughter moves on to kindergarten this year she still wishes she could have stayed at SMPC Preschool and generally has developed such a love for school that she asks daily how much longer she has to wait for summer vacation to be over.

In answer to your specific questions I would visit their website at:

South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church / Home / Welcome

Best of luck and welcome to the area! We've been here a little over a year and couldn't be happier here.

Both of my kids went to Harrison UMC for preschool. It is 1/2 day. They teachers there are very loving and it was a great experience for both of them.
