Preschools in Union County/Indian Trail
We are moving to Indian Trail in early February. My son is 2 (will be 3 on September 21st) and I was interested in looking for part time preschools in the area for Fall 2007. Here in the Triangle usually there is a large "preschool round up" in February, after that it is very hard to sign your child up for preschool as most spots are taken.
Soooo....can anyone recommend a good preschool in Union County/Indian Trail? Thanks!!!!

I have similar concerns about preschools in that area as we have a 3 yr old. My husband and I will be checking out a new development in Indian Trail over the weekend. I'll let you know if I come across any.

There is one called Kids r Kids in Stallings on Potter Rd. I know quite a few parents who are very happy with it. You coul d also check out the YMCA-they have a good program.
There are also plenty of excellent Christian pre-schools, if that interests you. Carmel Baptist is a GREAT school, along with Matthews United Methodist, and Cross and Crown. There are many more, but those are the ones I know for sure have good reps. My daughter goes to Carmel Baptist and I love it (so does she!).
Good Luck!

if you are moving here with kids I highly suggest you join www.charlottemommies.com
that way you can have all of your kid questions answered by moms whose kids go to certain preschools (and other questions you have)

I'm also a member of that forum-it is very helpful! You can join unioncountymommies.com for more specific info on the Indian Trail area.

there is a great preschool in indian trail run by the community baptist church. both of my children went there and i was very pleased with them. the phone number is 704-821-2462. it is a small program with only 25 or so kids, so they are able to give lots of attention to all of the kids. the price was a little less than some of the other area schools. when we were there it was only $150 a month for 4 days a week. please feel free to pm me with any questions you may have.

bused across county line
I am closing on a house in indian trail. I was wondering if anyone knew if they would bus children from shiloh elementary to a daycare 7 miles away in southeast charlotte????? The daycare that I am interested in (gateway academy) does have an after school program that would best meet my needs bec it runs until 6:30. Also, does anyone have any info on how shiloh compares with area elementary schools. Also I have older kids who will attend sun valley middle and high? any info would be greatly appreciated.

Don't know for sure, but I doubt a school will bus a kid in Union county back into Charlotte in Mecklenburg county. Hopefully you can find something closer to your childs school. Sun Valley High school is well thought of, though its scores may not be quite as high as some other Union county schools. It is also ungoing some building and rennovations and will be quite nice by next year I believe.
