Hello everyone.

My husband has accepted a job in the Southpark area of Charlotte and we will be relocating in June 2018 (hubby will be moving first & will rent an apartment). The kids and I will follow once this school year is over (various factors went into this unconventional choice). So we are trying to narrow down the area we'd like to buy a home.

Does anyone know if Mecklenburg County will be changing school start times for the high school level? I know there is currently a redistricting issue going on in Union County, but I'm curious about start times. High school here in our area in CA starts at 8 am and I know there is a push in this state to move high school start times even later to 8:30. Anything like that going on in Mecklenburg? Am I correct when I say all Mecklenburg public high schools start at 7:15?

Thanks for any info you can provide!

There are no plans to change the high school start time from 7:15AM in CMS for the 2017-2018 school year.

Here's a list:

Bell Schedules

Myers Park High begins at 7:10, there are a few of the magnet/academy Highs that begin at different times, some as late as 9+ am.

This allows HS students to catch the worm.
