I haven't visited all of Charlotte, but wondering what are the most reputable neighborhoods/sections in terms of safety, amenities, and established.. by this I mean already developed, people are happy there and isn't expected to change much in a negative way.
My wife is from Vancouver and I'm from the burbs but been living in Murphy the past 5 years. Now need a place to settle as a couple and family in near future. We would rent for at least a year, no rush to jump into home ownership but want to live in the same general area we would buy. I work online/travel and her field is food science. I know the neighborhoods vary widely within county limits, we don't really have a set preference on that coming from both urban/rural extremes.
Move to Chantilly or Plaza Midwood!
Center City, crime is going down, prices up, schools "improving", and walk to bars and restaurants.
LOTS of young marrieds with dogs.

I recall Midwood, seemed nice but also closely located to a sketchy looking immigrant area. That's nice if crime is improving. We're of indo-pak descent so wouldn't mind being near a temple or mosque, I know they're in that area. I don't expect much from any public school, in fact we have discussed home schooling. We rather be in an area we dare to walk out at night. I'll look closer at that area, I use to live in Monroe so went straight up that way on occasion.
Central Charlotte is full of evil "libs". You wouldn't like it. Look at the northern or southern suburbs.
Not anymore.
