My husband and I will be relocating to Charlotte in the next year or two. We thought it would be fun to spend New Year's there. What do people do for New Year's celebrations? Where do people go? Are there decent clubs in and around Charlotte.

Well, IIRC, Charlotte still does First Night. That's where the downtown area is closed off to traffic so people can walk around. Many of the downtown buildings are open and sponsor entertainment. It's an alcohol free event, though. There will be fireworks at midnight. You can also check out the downtown hotels. They offer New Year's packages; the room is supplied with champagne and other New Year's accoutrements. From there you can ask about the club scene.
