HI All,

I got a job in Salisbury and looking for house to rent which is near to Salisbury and have Indian population near by. I could figure out Concord as one of the towns between Charlotte and Salisbury.
Is there any other place where rent is not that high and have good Indian population and good Elementary schools.
I plan to move after 15th Nov 2017. Please suggest possible places .

We need to know how much you're willing to spend in rent.

"2 bhk"

I'm not familiar with that unit of measurement.

Purely speculating, an Indian reference to a 2 bedroom, hall, kitchen flat. $700-900 for a 2 br apartment in Concord or other locations? As suggested by the initial inquirer, towns with schools potentially with Indian residents and students?

Thanks for the reply. I plan to take 2 bedroom apartment and my rent range is 700$ to 900 $.
Please suggest nearest town to salisbury with Indian population. I coudnt get any indian grocery stores in salisbury so i am assuming we dont have much indian population in salisbury.

I think you would have to drive 15 or so miles south to north Charlotte from Salisbury for Indian groceries. I make a similar trip every week or two for desi groceries.

Salisbury should be low cost for rent so don't worry.

For a 2 bedroom apartment in the $700-900, even Salisbury is going to be a stretch. You will definitely be priced out of Concord and Charlotte. Winston-Salem should be possible.
But that budget is not going to get you into a nice apartment in any city within commuting distance of Salisbury. I saw the other thread about good schools. Unfortunately, if you are working with a maximum budget, schools aren't going to be able to be the priority.

If you are willing to live in more rural areas, you should be able to find private rentals. A lot of the rural elementary schools in Rowan County are pretty good. Millbridge, Landis, Faith, Shive, etc... plenty of them.

So, you are going to have to decide which is more important. Proximity to an Indian population- which will require you to live in Concord or Charlotte, have a long commute (40-60+ minutes) and a bottom rate apartment (which will likely be assigned to a subpar school) or the better school, which will likely come with a shorter commute, but be far from an Indian population.

There are several small houses and apartments in Salisbury in that price range as listed on the Charlotte-area Craigslist. Apparently the closest Indian grocery stores are in University City, Charlotte or in Winston-Salem.

There's a rumor that they might be building an Indian grocery store off of Harris Road outside of Highland Creek. We'll see what ends up there but they are building something.
