Default Where to hold a 2 year old b-day party.

Anyone have any suggestions on places around town that are good to have a 2 year old birthday party. I know I don't want it at my house and all the places I've been to are for older childrens parties.

Have you looked into Gymboree? I know they do classes for smaller kids, so maybe they do birthday parties, too. Good luck!

Check out Charlotte at Play. My almost 2 year old LOVES going there.

Charlotte at Play

If you are a YMCA member and have a water baby, they also do birthday pool parties. Rays Splash Planet also has indoor birthday pool parties.

Make sure you stay away from Chuckie Cheese and Monkey Joes for a two year old. We have been to birthday parties there and they are not suited to a 2 year old.

If the weather is nice, you can always look at a Charlotte park. Most of the parks have a covered picnic area (and of course the playground).

I was also going to suggest Charlotte at Play. It's not too wild and there are a lot of things for a 2 year old to explore. I agree about Monkey Joe's, I took my 3 year olds there and found it very stressful. There is NO supervision from the staff and most parents are socializing or reading the paper. It just it too busy for younger kids.

Those are great suggestions. We held my dd second birthday at Pump It Up. It was sooo much fun. All the parents said it was the best party they had ever been too. I would suggest having a party on the weekend at a place like Pump It Up...it is so helpful to have the fathers there to help with all the climbing and carrying. We are having dd third bday party there in CA when we go to visit in a couple of weeks.

Build A Bear may be too much. I have a friend that just did this and the kids had a hard time following...most of them were 3. It was a little too much waiting and they didn't "get" a lot of the routine and symbolism regarding making the animals.

We had ours at the clubhouse of our subdivision and we just had Copy Cats for Kids come out and entertain. Our friends had their 4 year olds party last month at a park and they had Copy Cats out for that too. Just a couple of options... We didn't want to exactly have it at home but we were trying to find options that were in our budget.
