Looking to move to the Charlotte area
I live in the Detroit, MI area. My family and I were looking to move to the Charlotte area maybe somewhere around Pineville. I not sure about the school systems or crime in the area, has to be better than here!! If anyone can give me some feed back on the Charlotte area please let me know.

Hi Taggs! The moderator of this forum, the dear SunnyK, has just recently completed a project wherein threads with lots of feedback about Charlotte have been grouped into categories that would be pertinent for a potential newcomer like you. I recommend you check them out. Just page through the first few pages of threads on the Charlotte Forum and you will see them. They are the threads that begin with "Threads on..." There is one on neighborhoods, extra living expenses, and others. Good luck on the research.

That is a loaded question I would read through the threads here -- they will be extremely helpful to you as you focus on where you want to live.

The area you would be considering is a great place to live. Will your family be renting or buying? There is a wide range of housing prices in the area you are referencing and also many apartments to choose from. This is a low crime area. Did you know about Pineville b/c you have friends or relatives here? Pineville and S. CLT run into each other - you really cannot tell where one ends and the other begins. So you would want to check the whole S. CLT area and see what you think.
ARG had a good suggestion re: looking on previous links. You can find all sorts of info that will answer questions and help you find out more about the area.
We have many recreational areas and parks here . . . lakes . . . so there are opportunities for outdoor activities as well as other types of entertainment.
Keep reading and let us know how we can help you further. Good luck!

Move to Pineville
To get information on demographics and crime stats go to: home. Click on "Neighborhoods" then look at "2006 Quality of Life Study". For schools check out: ReDir or SchoolMatters - Home
