Traffic into 28211 zip code, travel times?
Family and I are considering a move to Charlotte. Wondering what traffic is like into the 28211 zip code. South Charlotte? is that area called SouthPark?
Would living in Matthews be a 20 or so commute in?
Thanks, sure I'l have many more to come

I'm afraid it's not quite that simple. Zip code areas can stretch for long distances so it really depends where you are in the zip code how long your commute to uptown would be. 28211 is just one part of south Charlotte and does encompass more than just the Southpark area. If you care to give specific street names I may be able to answer your question.

I am living in South Charlotte off of Pineville-Matthews Road and take Providence road all the way to uptown, 12 miles and a solid 45-50 mins. Since I am still new to the area I haven't tried the freeways and am just discovering different routes. Good luck.

From that location you can make it to uptown in about 15 minutes during non-traffic times of day. In the morning rush you would need about 30 minutes. It is right on the busline and you could take an express bus up and be there in what would feel like no time at all if you had a newspaper or book to read

Let me clarify,
The office is Timber Pines Drive, 28211, and we are considering living in Matthews. What's the commute? Looks close on the map, but am wondering about traffic.
Thanks again!

Hum...the Timber Pines I'm thinking of is off Monroe Road near Village Lakes Dr, but that's not in 28211 now that I look at the map. Can you give me major roads near the office and nearest to where you want to live?

Sorry,
Ok , I am confusing myself now, staring at maps, schools, houses, etc. etc. etc....
office would be off of Monroe Road on Timber Springs Drive,
we are just considering looking in Matthews, but open to areas of charlotte around office also. What would commute be to office from Matthews?
Thanks again!!!

That would be a fairly easy commute for the most part, unless you were way out in Matthews near the Union county line. Really, that is a good job location, not too much time in traffic from Matthews compared to other places in the city. Can you tell me approximately how much you plan to spend on a house, I might be able to make some neighborhood suggestions.

We would like to spend $325,000 or less. Actually we have "looked" at some beautiful homes in the 275-299 range. 4 bedrooms, garage, neighborhood pool is a must (since backyard pools appear to be obsolete in this area).
We may make a quick trip to the area when the kids are out for Christmas Break to officially look.
Thanks again.
