Mint Hill Crime
I am relocating to the Mint Hill area and I am worried about some statistics I have seen on several websites. I am from New Orleans, La, so crime is something I am use to. How is the Mint Hill area compared to other areas in Mecklenburg county; Matthews. Does anyone know the COlonial Village apts at Greystone? Thanks

Mint Hill is a very safe area. Oh sure, there is property crime like in most every place these days - but so much of that could be prevented if people just closed their garage doors or locked their cars even in their own driveways. HOWEVER, and I hate to sound discouraging - the Colonial Village apartments are barely in Mint Hill (more like the edge of Charlotte) and more crime happens there than just about all of the rest of Mint Hill put together. This is because this is a huge area of apartments and it attracts criminals like most big complexes in Charlotte do. That being said, it's not the worst complex in the Charlotte area at all - just be aware that stuff does happen there.

Thank-you, I am not looking for a perfect place. I was just wondering if this area contains constant break-ins, car jacking, and violent crimes. I do realize that apts can attract property crime. Is this apartment one of better apts in the area?

These are the only apartments in Mint Hill - and how a developer snuck them in about 15 years ago is beyond me - it has never happened again as the city has very strict zoning and did not want any more of them. I do not think you have to worry too much about violent crime there. Believe me coming from the warzone you are coming from this will be like moving to Mandeville
