Default Closest Beaches to Charlotte/Fort Mill??

I have done some searching on this site but have not found what I am looking for yet. Can some of you current dwellers help myself and others who are ignorant to this, what the closest beaches are to Charlotte and Fort Mill? I am looking for a beach with clubs and other fun stuff around and not necessarily geared 100% toward families and young kids. I know Myrtle Beach is great but looks like a good 3 hour drive and was hoping there was something that would fit my criteria a little closer. If you want to list some good family beaches too, I'm sure some will be looking for that.

Nothing really near Fort Mill or Charlotte except a couple of small lakes with very limited public access.

All the beaches are going to be 3 hours away. Myrtle Beach is about 3 1/2 hours - it is a little harder to get to. Charleston is the easiest (I-77 to I-26 until it ends) and there is plenty to do there. Charlotte is closer to the mountains and Raleigh is closer to the beach (2 hours to Wilmington).

Yes, and also Wilmington/Wrigtsville beach area (known as Cape Fear area) is about 3.5-4 hours. Basically get on Hwy 74 east from Charlotte and drive until ends.

From Tega Cay (Fort Mill area) to Charleston (the closest)...it takes me 3 hours (takes longer to get to MB)
