Way off base. I love the people and services that Monroe has to offer. When I visited Chicago, I saw just as many people that would fit the description of redneck as down here (assuming that is where you are from based on your sn). I hate you have such a poor taste in your mouth for Monroe, what is the reason for that? Do you live here or moved from here?

My experience with Monroe has not been redneck, but mostly hispanic.
Doesn't really make a difference to me, I dislike Monroe simply because of the terrible location and commute to Charlotte.

His reason is clear if you see the hidden clue which he doesn't want to say in any other way then to wish you "Good Luck"

are considering a move to Monroe. Could you give us an update on your experiences so far. Funny, we are also from South Florida, born in mercy hospital, Coconut Gove...LOL... This may be an old thread ??? Hope it still works.
Have questions about moving family to southern side of Charlotte.

[grocery stores, malls, walmarts, target..?] Also..in the 2 acre home we are planning to get we are going to build a little/medium warehouse [i'm in the process of starting out my own private cattery..] how's NC with permits for things like that in that area.. ?
One more thing, how are the people in monroe like? friendly? do most people in that area speak english? [somehow when moving from florida to newhampshire we managed to be close to an area where there are a lot of greek people and it sometimes feels like english is a minority there!]
Well thanks again everyone for your comments!

I can't be too far from you. My kids walk up Corinth (albeit no sidewalks) to get to Lancaster.
Have you eaten at the Palace yet?
Welcome neighbor!

real estate in UCounty
Sara,
what is the real estate situation like.??? We are here outside of Knoxville,TN.
We may have to rent out our house here, no one is selling anything right
now. We may have to lease a home in the mean time. Hope real estate is better in Charlotte area.
Thanks VIc

NO clue, but contact the county zoning office for help. A lot of info is online these days. Many suburban/rural areas have zoning that would prohibit your warehouse in a residential area so check before you make plans!
