Hi all,

First time going to Carowinds and unfortunately, it'll have to be a Saturday.

I noticed they're open from 10 AM to 10 PM. Does that mean you have a short window from 10 to 11 am where it's not too bad?

Alternatively, could I get there late like 4 PM and does it thin out at all with the families leaving? Is weekends after Labor Day better?

We go to Carowinds frequently and typically avoid Saturdays, but since you don't have the option, get there first thing in the morning. Ride the lower capacity coasters first (slower-moving lines): Nighthawk, Ricochet, and Flying Cobras. Do the flat rides in the new-ish County Fair area early as well; specifically Electro-Spin (this one is awesome!). Then, hit up Intimidator, Fury 325 (excellent coaster!), Afterburn, and all the others following that.

Keep in mind that later on in September, Scarwinds Halloween event begins, so the crowds will pick back up. Between Labor Day and that event, I think there is a Saturday or two that the park will be closed for a private event.

Thanks! Looks like maybe September 8 would be the sweet spot (no Scarowinds and weekend after labor day). You are right it appears Sept 9 is closed for private.
