Hi everyone. I made it..Two days of driving and only one thing broke and thats because when my lovely BF opened the Penske truck door, it fell out. I think I can fix it though. However, going from 85 degree Miami weather to 40 degree (rainy) was a little bit shocking but no big deal. My car insurance is cheaper and even my cable/internet combo is $40 cheaper!! I'm very excited about getting out and about and then settled into the house which they already started!! WOOO WHOOO

Hey, congrats! We are thinking of moving north too - we're in SW FL right now. What do the home insurance costs look like in NC? They can't be half as bad as here in Florida!

Welcome to Charlotte. Don't fret about the weather - it's going to be beautiful very soon. April is one of my favorite months in Charlotte. So many plants and shrubs are abloom. It's a lovely world.

I wonder if you southern floridians even own long sleeves and if so probably just a couple of pairs?
You came at the right time if you need to stock up on any though. Most of the stores have those items on clearance right now and best time to buy denim is June and early July.

Welcome to Charlotte you are only a few months til NC has some Florida type temperatures. I hope you enjoy it here.

Jennifer

As a rough guide a 200K house in Mecklenburg County will run about $550.

Car Insurance in Miami was $120 a month with State Farm, still with State Farm paying $58 and we increased the coverage.

Himain Welcome to Charlotte.

The weathers no longer a shock after two years, though I do miss Pollo Tropical amongst other food items.

Jennifer, For my house being built at about $171K with Travelers insurance will be about $330 for the year!!! My car insurance with Travelers as well is $330 for six months (thats a leased car). I'm sure the car and house insurance will obviously vary but its definitely A LOT cheaper than FL!
