check out their website for those that are interested about crime. They siad everyone is talking about the big increase in South Charlotte. Dilworth residents had a meeting and are paying more to have private patrols done at night. A church in Matthews is having a meeting for women and their safety Tues. night and homes in Providence Commons have been broken into a couple of times this past month so the copys have increased their presence but it still hasn't stopped the break-in's there. One house was broken into twice..I can't believe the nerve of some of these guys! The police said even when they catch them the system is like a revolving door and they will be back on the streets so I guess for us that means we are just suppose to live with them? ha not sure.
Yes, they did. Unfortunately, there are some that just won't admit that this city has a crime problem. You can post some stats, and they won't believe them. Believe me, those people getting their doors kicked in, the people getting shot, and the people in Dilworth are not joking around about it.
I thought it was a happy post showing that people realize there is a problem now and trying to fix it. Should I just post the fox link? I didn't see it online just heard it on the 10:00 news.
interestingly enough the house that was broken into in providence commons they came back the thieves and stole the people's brand new honda accord...go figure....
I think this should be an eye opener for us all. Neighbors need to be more neighborly, and keep an eye out for each other. Crime doesn't have a particular zip code. Think about it, if you were a burgular would you break into homes that likely don't have the "gadgets/merchandise" that you are looking for? Or would you break into places where you think you'll score BIG. I am guilty of this, I live in an apartment complex, and couldn't tell you what my neighbors look like, or their names. It's a shame I know. Just my observation thou.
