Mediterranean can be pricey so I was hoping to find some casual places.
Thanks!
It looks like when you refer to Mediteranean, you are refering to southern Mediteranean (N. African and/or eastern Med.)? These are amongst my favorites. I have seen an Arab restaurant on Independence Blvd. near Elizabeth. I forgot the name of the place but you might want to check it out. If you do, please let me know how it was. I will possibly check it out next week when I am in Charlotte.
I'm actually half Turkish and Sofram is very good! I took my Mom there and she loved it also. Modern Mediterranean may be the place to try this weekend. = )
My husband and I lived in Turkey and are big fans of its cuisine. As such we were very excited when we heard about Sofram. However, when we went there we were very disappointed and have not been back. Now this was when it first opened and it may have changed.Maybe we judged too hastily. Hearing that some Turks liked the food makes me think that maybe we were wrong. Someone let me know what you ate there that you liked. I'd love to be wrong about this place because we crave good Turkish food.
Checked out M5 Modern Mediterranean. It is pricey for just casual dining. See what I mean! = )
Where are the affordable mediterranean places?
I'd recommend you check out M5 during lunch or brunch hours. That's always the best time to visit any resturant, because the prices are much lower then.
This place below is all Greek, so its probably not what you're looking for, but their food is good and its very affordable. Its right beside Jillian's, near the Bland St. light rail stop also.
