So everything is official with my new USAMRIID position at Fort Detrick in Frederick, Md. I've wanted a job like this for 3 years now and finally achieved it! Sad part, of course, is we have to leave my home town. I sure am gonna miss this place, but all of my family is here so we won't be strangers. Luckily, the Frederick area is really nice so I know we'll be happy there.
And don't worry, you won't even know I'm gone. I'll be here rufflin' feathers as usual. Besides, the Maryland forums are really slow, so I won't have a choice but remain a Charlotte City Data Geek.
Let me be the first to say CONGRATULATIONS!! There is nothing like being happy about something you wanted and meant for you to have. I'm coming in and your going out. The best to you and your family!
OMGosh! Congratulations, CG!!!! You know, Maryland really isn't that far at all! Frederick is a great area . . . and your new position sounds awesome!!!
Just as long as you promise you will not abandon the forum . . . and I am sure you all will be coming back to CLT to see family . . . it just isn't that bad a drive.
And someday, you will come back to NC to live. All NC'ers eventually come back home. That is what they told me when I left . . . I didn't believe 'em . . . but here I am.

Well of course I won't abandon the forum! I still want to do my part with the Neighbors Defending Neighbors campaign. Charlotte will always be my home and I want to do what I can to keep it great--for when we return!
Congratulations! I'm so happy that you got the job that wanted for the last three years. So we really know that you are leaving NC on a happy note. Change is good, and even better when its something you desire.
Carolina Guy--Frederick is really nice, I was born and raised about 30 miles east of it, the only problem is congestion and growth but we know what that is like. Congratulations, that is a great place to be and work.
