Hi,
I am heading to Charlotte tonight/weekend for a brief seminar tomorrow morning. I am staying at the Charlotte Marriott City Center...so I think this will be central to most things going on downtown. I am coming from Raleigh, so not too far away. I have never been to Charlotte...What would you recommend I see while I am there. What is there too see? Hot spots? Fun things to do? Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks

Dude the Charlotte Symphony has one of its avant garde concerts tonight over at Knight Theatre...Bechtler Museum has First friday Jazz night with awesome music....The Mint has its First friday activities, awesome! The very wild play "Southern Baptist Sissies" is on at Duke Energy Theatre, but VERY controversial in some minds (so just a caution!).

The First friday arts crawls around town, especially in NODA, are fantastic. And all of this is for tonight! Get a Creative loafing to see whats on for the rest of the weekend. Cheers! Michael

Tonight (Friday) is the Bobcats vs Miami heat. Getting single game seats is usually easy (scalpers).

I was going to suggest the Bobcats game, but I see the thread is from 2008 so too little too late I guess.
