Denver, NC is a nice area and more affordable than Davidson/Cornelius, etc..., but it is not a major job center. There are some jobs, I just wouldn't say "many" like you asked in your post. It is a less populated area that used to be very rural, but now has some shopping and subdivisions. The local economy is mainly driven by government/local services, healthcare, retail, and manufacturing businesses.

Lincoln County, NC's largest employers are:
1. Lincoln County Schools
2. County of Lincoln
3. Carolinas Healthcare Lincoln
4. RSI Home Products (Manufacturing)
5. Wal-Mart
6. The Timken Company (Manufacturing)
7. Julius Blum (Manufacturing)
8. Lowe's Home Improvement
9. Cataler (Manufacturing)
10. Congruity HR (Payroll/Benefits Admin)

Denver is nice, but a bit remote.

If you move to Denver, you will likely have to drive to your place of employment.

If you head anywhere west or north of Denver, many will think of you as a damned yankee.

Mooresville is nice for the most part as long as you don’t need to go to Charlotte very often

There are several new developments in Mooresville, Lake Walk, Atwater to name a couple. House prices are higher in Mooresville as compared to Denver. Probably around the Mid 300's for a new house. I have seen houses in the 200's for sale here and there though. I am retired so getting to work isn't an issue. We like Mooresville for the convenience. Our development is about a mile off 150. Stores, Doctors, Dentists are all within a 10 minute drive. The down side is Rt.150 can be challenging. We like the people here and our community is on the Lake. We are very happy here.
