They have not announced who will succeed at the anchor desk, but meanwhile Jamie Boll seems to be filling in. Also Delano Little has retired as the sports anchor, after succeeding Paul Cameron when he moved to the anchor desk. A new sports anchor has not yet been announced.
Mr. Inman wrote Liberty Mountain, which is performed every summer in Kings Mountain. It's about the battle.

Jamie Boll has a half hour show, Monday through Friday at 7:30. Last night they had a woman who was supposed to be an expert talking about changes in the local accent. She seemed to have a remarkable lack of knowledge on the topic.

Jamie Boll has taken over the lead anchor spot from Paul Cameron on the early evening newscasts at 5pm and 6m. But still no replacement anchor at 11pm. The young city beat reporter Alex Jiles now anchors Jamie Boll's former spot on the 4pm and 5:30pm programs. But the retirement of a longtime legacy anchor such as Paul Cameron leaves a big void to fill.

Yes and for many years WBTV was the number one ranked news station in the city. But as the area has grown other channels have upped their game, and other channels have created news departments. The competition has increased dramatically for the top news station. But WBTV has always recruited top notch talent, and these guys will be missed by thousands of viewers.
