We're looking for some suggestions on a good semi-custom builder in the $350k-$500k price range. Ideally someone who works with their own lots/inventory as well as has experience building on your own lots.
Reputable, honest, financially stable, and responsive are all perks for us.
Artisan is building a custom home at 1625 S Tryon St I ride pass there everyday going to work. The google street map shows the beginning stages its almost complete now. Once i save up enough money I'm going to have Artisan build me a similar city new construction.
Good luck and be sure to share with us who you end up hiring and post photos!
Niblock. When we were house shopping and looking for builders, Niblock went way above and beyond. They checked lots we were interested in and would let us know how much prep work and the cost would be. All for NO charge at all. We didn't even have to agree to use them. We eventually went with a community being built by another builder but cost was a factor. In the range you are looking at you could easily use them. We always felt bad about the time they took with us and we didn't use them. If I had the money,, I would definitely have used them. They had nice house plans, and would customize them as you wanted as well. I believe they also have lots if you don't have one.
When we were looking at building we talked to Schumacher, Mike Palmer and Shawn Patterson. Along with a bunch of the mass builders. Ultimately we ended up finding a home and not building but, we really liked Shawn a lot. Super honest and no BS. I got his contact info from a coworker who has built 2 houses with him and was extremely happy with both of them. When we start our remodel we plan to reach out to Shawn again. Your budget might be a little tight depending on what you want/expect but, a phone call never hurts.
Well, to be fair, the OP said $350-500K but didn't give any home specs.
$500K for a 1500sq/ft, 3/2 ranch would be a pretty hefty budget.
